Leicester City secured their first win in the Premier League this season with a convincing 2-1 victory over Aston Villa at King Power Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Foxes, who had lost their last four games, were able to get back into the top flight after securing a draw against Manchester United earlier in the week.
Aston Villa, meanwhile, continued their struggles in the league as they suffered their fourth defeat in five games.
The match was dominated by Leicester, who took the lead through a stunning strike from Jamie Vardy in the 57th minute. The former Chelsea striker curled home a powerful shot from 25 yards out that sent the crowd into raptures.
Villa responded in the 68th minute when Jack Grealish equalised for his side, but it was not long before Leicester regained the lead thanks to another fine display from Vardy.
The forward scored his second goal of the game just three minutes later, curling a stunning effort past the visiting goalkeeper to give Leicester all three points.
The win moved Leicester up to 14th place in the table, while Aston Villa remain rooted at the foot of the standings, six points adrift of safety.
It is clear that Leicester have turned a corner under new manager Brendan Rodgers and the team will be looking to continue their good form going into their next fixture against Burnley on Wednesday night.
