Lamela has signed a new contract extension with Sevilla FC for the next four years, extending his stay at the club until 2026.
The 34-year-old Spanish midfielder has been a key player for Sevilla since joining from Real Madrid in 2015. He has made 289 appearances for the club and scored 47 goals, helping them win the La Liga title in 2016-17.
"Lamela is a fantastic addition to our squad," Sevilla's president Javier de la Serna said in a statement. "His experience and leadership will be invaluable as we look to compete for trophies this season."
During his time at Sevilla, Lamela has become a respected figure both on and off the pitch. He has been involved in several charitable initiatives and has received numerous awards for his contributions to the club and the community.
Despite his age, Lamela remains one of the most sought-after players in Europe. His contract extension is expected to further cement his status as a top-class midfielder and help Sevilla continue their success in the coming years.
