VfL Wolfsburg have secured their fourth consecutive victory in the Bundesliga thanks to a comprehensive 3-1 win over Hertha BSC at home on Sunday afternoon. The match was decided by two late goals from Enner Valencia and Arnold, who scored in the final minutes of the first half and the second respectively.
The first goal of the game came early in the second half when Enner Valencia headed home a cross from the right-hand side of the pitch, giving Wolfsburg a deserved lead. However, Hertha BSC were not about to give up easily and they managed to level things up just before the hour mark through a penalty kick converted by Andre Schurrle.
Wolfsburg then took control of the game after the break and it was clear that they had the upper hand as they continued to dominate possession. They eventually found the winner in the 82nd minute when Arnold slotted home a shot from outside the box following some excellent build-up play between the players.
Despite conceding a late equaliser, Wolfsburg showed great composure in front of goal to hold onto their lead until the end of the match. It's now four straight wins for VfL Wolfsburg in all competitions, putting them firmly in the hunt for a top-four finish this season. Their impressive form has seen them climb to fourth place in the table, just one point behind third-placed RB Leipzig. With games against Augsburg and Mainz coming up, Wolfsburg will be looking to continue their momentum and secure a strong position in the standings.
